Parmy Dhillon “Friend or Foe” – Melbourne

Parmy Dhillon “Friend or Foe” – Melbourne

Is it just me or is anything RAW better than overcooked.  Yeah??  Well we can say that about the music industry too; we like the fresh vs the overdone.  Oh how we love the in your face, rule breakers that deliver the best freakin music that our ears dare to hear!

Feast your ears on Parmy Dhillon, an unapologetic singer songwriter out of Melbourne, Australia who is doing for Alternative Rock music what Tupac did for Rap – making you aware of the realities in life and flipping the script to accomplish that goal.  And he has the backing of one dynamite, smokin, band helping him to make his mark.

Dhillon’s “Friend or Foe” off of the EP “This is Where I’m At” lyrically and instrumentally illustrate how the highest high can become the lowest low.  It is dark in tone and theme but so dangerously delightful to the ears.  Addicting in its melody and hook, Dhillon has hit pay dirt with this commercially-ready track that has a video that is equally ripped.  I love the flirty violins and the hopeful soul appeal of the piano.

Like it is with a lot of the music created by many artists who choose to do the opposite action of every reaction, some people may not “get” the concept or feel the “reason” behind the track, but what rings true about this type of music, you will NEVER forget and you will ALWAYS respect it.

So, if you are like me and you enjoy the music and methodology of the likes of Tupac and Pearl Jam, or Smashing Pumpkins, then you will definitely dig this diverse, layered, well textured, guitar driven track that is right here, in your face, no apologies needed!
